On the heels of last week’s announcement that American Idol rocker James Durbin has signed with Wind-Up Records, comes news that he’s in the studio working on his debut for release this November.
And it looks like there will be some special guests helping Durbin out.
“In the studio working with James Durbin on a killer track!,” tweeted Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars on Wednesday.
“That's right! That's Mick F-in Mars!!!!! Playing on MY record!!! This is so unbelievable!!!!,” tweeted Durbin in reply to Mick’s message.
Durbin made a real name for himself among hard rockers during his Idol experience, upping his credibility with a guest appearance by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist and Black Label Society leader Zakk Wylde on the show, and metal gods Judas Priest played with him on the Idol finale in May, an episode watched by about 30 million viewers.
James is in the studio this week working recording with famed rock producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, P.O.D, My Chemical Romance, 3 Doors Down), and was thrilled to announce his record signing.
“Wind-up Records isn’t a label, it’s a family and I wanted to be a part of that,” says Durbin. “They are true music fans that want to see me have a long career as an artist. I couldn’t have asked for more when signing a record deal.”
